It doesn’t get any better. Facing the first and third place teams in the OUA East this weekend at home, the Men’s team took care of business with two huge wins without two thirds of their top offensive line and their starting goalie.

With Ryan Berard and Brandon MacLean in Turkey playing for the national team, the Ravens hammered the UQTR Patriotes 6-3 on Friday night and shut out the McGill Redmen 4-0.

Oh wait, it does get better. The Ravens handed McGill their first regulation loss of the season.

The two teams were by far the quickest and most skilled teams that have visited the Ice House this season. The Patriotes’ penalty trouble in the first period allowed Ravens top scorer Joey Manley to notch his team-leading goal of the year.

In the second, the Ravens came out energized and physical… it paid off. Linden Bahm, Jeff Hayes, Brad Good and another goal by Manley put them up 5-1 heading into the third. It was arguably their best period of the season.

The third period was a bit of a letdown. After Brad Good scored a great goal to put the Ravens up 6-1, the Patriotes battled back with two goals of their own. Too little, too late, but it would have been nice to see the Ravens play the entire 60 minutes as the dominant team.

Mitch and Jeff’s post game thoughts will be posted shortly.

On Saturday, the Ravens outhit, outworked and outplayed the Redmen. It was awesome. Jeff Krever will have the clips, interviews and report for you on Tuesday morning’s show. Tune in on http://www.ckcufm.com/ or find it on this site later on!
